It takes courage to take the first steps toward therapy, and sometimes perseverance to find the right fit! I have compiled some logistical information here that should help you in your decision about whether I might be a good fit for you. Please review it before booking your first appointment.

Practice Update: I now have a counseling intern in my practice, Krysten Selock! She is available immediately for clients on a self-selecting reduced fee of $50-120. Katie’s Current Availability (updated April 2nd, 2024):

Counseling: I am currently full for counseling clients. Because I do not know when I might have availability, I am not currently keeping a wait list. I do try to update this website every 2-3 months or when there is an opening, so please feel free to check back here for future availability updates.

Supervision and Consultation: I do have room for supervision and professional consultation. If you are interested in supervision or consultation, please contact me by phone or email, or book on the online portal.

My work week: I work Monday-Thursday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm (last appointment of the day at 5:00).

Scheduling: (Please Note: New client booking is currently disabled due to my practice being full for clients. New consultation and supervision appointments are available for online booking)  You can book your initial appointment at my client portal by clicking the “Book Now” button at the bottom of this page. I can also be reached by phone (206-407-9675) or email (counseling@katiestickney.com) to book appointments. The appointment time you book online is not guaranteed to be available for ongoing (weekly or biweekly) appointments. If you would like an ongoing slot, we will discuss available options at your first appointment or you can call or email me to find out if I have an ongoing time that works for you.

Intake Paperwork: Once you’ve booked your initial appointment, you will get an email with access to my paperwork online so that you can review it at your convenience and do not have to use session time or sit in my lobby doing it. We will discuss the key points and any questions you have at your first appointment.

Initial Period: The first 1-3 sessions are an opportunity for each of us to get to know each other and make sure that it’s a good fit. If it turns out not to be a good fit, I am happy to offer referrals to other providers.

Fees: My fees for counseling, supervision, and consultation are all the same: $150 for a 50-55 minute appointment. I accept cash, check, or credit card.

Reduced Fees: I reserve a certain number of slots for clients who need a reduced fee. These are all currently full. I do have a counseling intern, Krysten, who can meet with you on a self-selecting reduced fee range of $50-120. I do not have anticipated dates of when one may open and it may be some time, so I do not keep a waiting list for reduced fee clients for work with me. If you need reduced fee therapy, I recommend working with Krysten, or trying the Open Path Collective.

Insurance: I am an Out of Network provider. If you’d like to use your insurance benefits, I collect fees at time of service and provide monthly invoices that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement, and I’m happy to assist with getting this process set up for you. I recommend calling your insurance provider to verify this coverage before scheduling.

Good Faith Estimate: You have the right to request a non-binding written estimate of the total cost of your therapy. This can be provided to you at any time upon your request.
